Show Starter Loan Scheme

The information you provide in this form will be used by the Commonwealth to determine whether you are (or represent) an Eligible Borrower with an Eligible Activity under the Show Starter Loan Scheme (‘the Scheme’), in accordance with the Show Starter Scheme Rules (‘Scheme Rules’). If the Commonwealth assesses, based on the information provided, that you are eligible under the Scheme you will be issued with a Notice of Eligibility confirming you are an Eligible Borrower and setting out parameters for a loan. The issuance of a Notice of Eligibility does not constitute loan approval. You will need to apply for a loan through a participating lender. Usual lending processes, including credit assessment, will apply.

Borrowers will be required to provide written confirmation to the Participating Lender every six months on the use of the loan, until delivery of the New Arts and Entertainment Activity is complete or the loan is repaid. Borrowers are also required to cooperate with and provide information upon request to the Participating Lender or the Commonwealth from time to time. Under the Scheme Rules, the Commonwealth may direct a Participating Lender to take action against a borrower, including if the loan is used for an unapproved purpose.

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (the Department) is collecting personal information for the purposes of assessing the entity’s eligibility for the Show Starter Loan Scheme (‘the Scheme’) in accordance with the  Privacy Act 1988 and as authorised under the Show Starter Loan Scheme Rules 2020.

The Department will use your personal information to assess the entity’s eligibility for the Scheme and will store this information securely. The Department may also use your personal information for the purposes of administering the Scheme.  

The Department may disclose information to third parties in the following circumstances:

• to The Treasury for the purposes of administering the Scheme;
• to Participating Lenders under the Scheme for the purposes of verifying the entity’s eligibility;
• in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;
• where required by a House or a Committee of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia; or
• where required by law.

The Department may also disclose your information within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

If you do not provide the information requested we will not be able to assess the entity and activity eligibility for the Scheme.

You can submit this form any time up to or on 16 June 2021 (subject to the allocation of funds under the Scheme), noting that a loan with a Participating Lender would need to be written by 30 June 2021.
